March 11, 2018 Categories Bosch Ice Maker Refrigerator Help Water Dispenser Tags Is Your Bosch Refrigerator’s Ice or Water Dispenser Not Working. Your Bosch refrigerator is one of the hardest working appliances in the home and something you probably can’t live without. The first thing you should do before attempting any repairs, disconnect power and turn off the water supply for safety reasons. Follow these simple tips to get your Bosch refrigerator ice and water dispensers working properly: Check the water filter When the water filter is clogged, it may cause no water at all or very slow water dripping from the dispenser. To maintain proper water flow, change the filter at least once in 6 months. Once you have replaced the water filter, test the dispenser for free water flow. Check if the water pressure is sufficient The home may have low water pressure. To operate properly, the water inlet valve requires from 20 to 120 psi. To help determine this, shut off the water supply, disconnect the supply line from the inlet valve, and hold the line over a bucket. Turn the water supply back on and observe whether or not there is a strong flow of water jetting out of the line. A weak flow indicates a problem with the water line or the water supply valve.

Make sure there is no air in the line If your Bosch refrigerator has been recently installed, there may be air in the line. Push the water dispenser lever down for 3 minutes. For this period, the water reservoir will fill up completely. If water still does not dispense, make sure the water supply line is connected to the refrigerator properly and the water pressure meets the requirements for your refrigerator model. You can find instructions in the user manual. If further assistance is needed, call to schedule an appointment with our professional refrigerator repair technician. Make sure the water supply tube is not frozen A frozen water supply tube leading to the icemaker tray or the water dispenser can also impede dispenser functions. You can heat the supply tube by heating it with a hairdryer, but be aware that a frozen supply tube is usually caused by insufficient water pressure or a defective inlet valve. Check if the water line valve is open For refrigerator to receive water, the water line valve to your refrigerator should be completely open. Denver Appliance Pros can help you. Call us to schedule an appointment with one of our professional repair technicians. He will diagnose your Bosch refrigerator and fix the problem at the soonest possible time. Possible faulty hardware that could be causing issues. Faulty dispenser switch The dispenser switch sends voltage to the dispenser. The switch, actuated by the dispenser lever, could be faulty. Depending on the model, you may be able to use a multi-meter to test the switch for continuity a continuous electrical path present in the switch. If the switch tests negative for continuity, it will need to be replaced. Defective ice dispenser control board If all of the dispenser functions are disrupted, then the ice maker control board itself may be defective. While the board cannot be easily tested, you can inspect it for signs of burning or shorted out component.

Malfunctioning door switch The door switch disables the ice and water dispenser when the refrigerator door is open. A malfunctioning door switch may prevent the dispenser from operating even when the door is closed. As with the dispenser switch, you can use a multi-meter to test the door switch for continuity to determine if the switch has failed electrically. Faulty water inlet valve The water inlet valve opens to supply water to the dispenser. The inlet valve can fail both mechanically and electrically. A mechanical failure could be caused by the build-up of mineral deposits, preventing the valve from opening. If this happens, the valve will need to be replaced. Trying to clean out an old valve is not recommended due to the risk of part failure after repair. To determine if the inlet valve has failed electrically, use a multi-meter to test the valve solenoid coils for continuity. If one or more of the coils test negative for continuity, the inlet valve will need to be replaced. Defective main control board A defective main control board could result in the ice or water dispenser not working. As with the dispenser board, you can inspect the main board for signs of burning or a shorted out component and replace it with a new one provided all of the other dispenser components are working properly. We have identified the most common things that might be causing your Bosch refrigerator not to work properly, but there are other parts that could be at fault as well. Do not hesitate to call us and schedule a Bosch refrigerator repair appointment. According to research from the spruce website, you can reduce the amount of water you use in your home using the water dispenser. If you pay for water by the gallon, a water dispenser will eliminate running the faucet for several seconds to draw cold water. Save your money and improve water quality with your properly working water dispenser.

Send a Houzz Gift Card. The refrigerator is now about 2 years old and I am totally disappointed in the way it works. Periodically, throughout the day, it sounds like a freight train (terrible since it is close enough to my bedroom to wake me up at night) I have talked to the Bosch customer service several times and not only are they incredible rude (which in my opinion show a lack of training) they are completely unhelpful. I wish I would have gotten something like a liebherr or a subzero. Sorry to hear of your woes. But if your experience is anything like mine with Viking, all bets are off. If you are out of warranty they won't assist with any resolution, and their outsourced repair folks are only too happy to charge exorbitant fees to repair expensive items which should last longer than 3 years. Thank you, PGE. argh), the ice in the ice maker melts, and then refreezes, and then jams up the mechanism, and then leaks all over your floor. If you can stay on top of these things, then it's OK. We use both the stove and oven probably 2-3x weekly for dinners, and then a bit more on the weekend for other meals. We have no clue how long we'll stay in this house. AKA doesn't seem to be something that inspectors are enforcing locally. We are doing a renovation home loan and inspectors will come out at multiple phases to ensure code compliance, so I have to assume that our GC is being very prudent. General question to all on this thread though I think I know the answer - any thoughts on Verona.

Normally I wouldn't interrupt a counter with a tall element (wall ovens) but you have plenty of space--several prep areas, and the clean-up zone isn't cramped by the ovens. If you stay with the range, the ovens can be omitted, and an upper cabinet or open shelf used in that space. You have an opportunity to make the counters deeper-than-standard, for a few more inches of counter space. The clean-up zone and dish storage are near the DR, with a beverage fridge on that end of the island. Coffee pot could be kept in either corner near the clean-up sink, or the area where the wall ovens are drawn. Since primary trash pull-out is in the island prep zone, a second, smaller receptacle could be kept under the clean-up sink. MW is a drawer in the island, near the fridge. Good luck! ETA plan with consolidated kitchen area, and back door moved over. Archived threads--deeper counters..See More Help with ThisTiny Kitchen Q Comments (122) I took down the wall that led into a dark, drab galley kitchen. The wall had a pocket door that slid back and forth to shut out the noise of the dishwasher. There is no room to put an eat in kitchen but we were able to put a tiny island addition to the counter where one side of the wall came down. There was just enough counter material to make it stick out a bit to add 2 bar stools. Since we now have an open plan on the main floor we opted for a Bosch dishwasher that had the quietest option. We moved to this house from a character house which like yours had rooms that were cut off from each other (and had doors) which made for poor traffic flow and once granchildren came a very tight squeeze. Many things can be checked and corrected by the owner.

I'm not sure which model you have but if it's one of the free standing units the noise could be a damper that controls airflow from the freezer to the refrig. Several manufacturers use this system and they sometimes get noisey. Double check your warranty because I think Bosch has a 2 years all parts warranty and a 5 year electronics warranty. If you hear nothing back in a reasonable time, write to the big boss in Germany. I was wanting to get the information to my contact at Bosch who can probably help. Don't by a Bosch refrigerator. Have had problems with it cooling properly and now the Freezer evaporator motor went out. Very likely the problem all along. We had water leaking everywhere and had the motor replaced. Bosch customer service insists it only has a 1 year warranty, even when I sent them the print out from their website showing electronic parts covered for years 2-5. Then they said, well you didn't use a Bosch certified tech. It's all BS, they built a bad product and don't stand behind it. I will never buy another one nor recommend to anyone else!
